Compass CLEAR PATH ™ HCV Rapid Card Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Hepatitis C Virus in human serum/plasma/whole blood.
Test Principal:
HCV Rapid Card Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay. The test cassette consists of a coated conjugate pad containing HCV fusion antigen (core, NS3, NS4 and NS5) conjugated with colloidal gold (HCV Conjugates) and a control antibody conjugated with colloidal gold, and a nitrocellulose membrane strip containing a test line (T line) and a control line (C line). The T line is pre-coated with recombinant HCV antigen and the C line is pre-coated with goat anti-mouse IgG antibody. The specimen sample migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action to interact with the immobilized HCV antigen on the test lines and generate a line on test device as the gold particle complex forms.
If the specimen contains HCV antibodies, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain HCV antibodies, a colored line will not appear in this region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear at the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
