Compass CLEAR PATH ™ Syphilis Antibody Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Treponema pallidum (Tp) in human serum/plasma/whole blood to aid in the diagnosis of syphilis.
Test Principal:
Syphilis Antibody Rapid Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunochromatographic assay. The strip test contains a pre-coated membrane strip, which consist a colored conjugate pad containing recombinant Treponema pallidum antigens (17, 47kDA) antigens conjugated with colloidal gold (Tp conjugates) and rabbit IgG-gold conjugates (for control line), and a nitrocellulose membrane strip containing one test band “T” and a control band “C”. The “T” band is pre-coated with recombinant Treponema pallidum antigens (17, 47kDA) for the detection of antibodies to syphilis Infection and the C band is coated with goat anti-mouse IgG antibody.
The specimen sample migrate upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action to react with antibodies on the test lines and generate a line on test device as the antigen- antibody-monoclonal antibody gold particle complex forms. The device Indicating test line “T” for Treponema pallidum antibodies present and control line “C” on window of test device indication proper functioning of device. If the C line does not develop, the test result is invalid.
